Kim Kardashian Makes First Monaco F1 Paddock Appearance as Lewis Hamilton Eyes Ferrari Pole

Monaco: Lewis Hamilton had a high-profile supporter in the Formula 1 paddock on Saturday as Kim Kardashian arrived in Monte Carlo ahead of qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix.

Kardashian, who has been linked with the seven-time world champion since earlier this year, made her first major paddock appearance as Hamilton prepared to chase his first pole position with Ferrari. Her arrival added a fresh celebrity spotlight to one of Formula 1’s most glamorous race weekends.

Hamilton enters qualifying with strong momentum after Ferrari showed impressive pace through practice. The slow, narrow and twisty Circuit de Monaco is traditionally a track where qualifying carries huge importance, with overtaking notoriously difficult on race day. Ferrari had looked competitive on Friday, with Hamilton and teammate Charles Leclerc setting the pace before Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli topped final practice on Saturday.

Kardashian was seen arriving with her sister Khloe Kardashian, first aboard a yacht and later near the Monaco paddock. Kim opted for a black sheer-style top, blue denim jeans, pointed heels and dark sunglasses, bringing her signature fashion presence to the Formula 1 paddock. Khloe chose a Monte Carlo summer-inspired look with a halter top and capri pants.

The appearance comes after Hamilton himself drew attention for his Monaco fashion, including a bold sheer sequin top at the Circuit de Monaco. Hamilton has long been known for using Formula 1 weekends as a style platform, often blending motorsport, luxury fashion and celebrity culture.

For Hamilton, however, the focus remains firmly on the track. The 41-year-old is still seeking a breakthrough Ferrari pole, and Monaco could offer one of his best chances yet. Ferrari are also facing the weekend without team principal Fred Vasseur for qualifying after the team confirmed he was under medical observation.

Hamilton’s recent form has added to expectations, especially after a runner-up finish at the previous round in Canada behind Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli. With Ferrari looking strong in Monaco and Kardashian’s paddock debut drawing global attention, Saturday’s qualifying session is set to be one of the most closely watched moments of the weekend.

For now, Monaco has delivered exactly what it is famous for: fast cars, high fashion, celebrity arrivals and a Ferrari driver chasing glory on the streets of Monte Carlo.

Bentley Bentayga Makes Royal Appearance at Jai Vilas Palace as Maharani Priyadarshini Raje Scindia Takes the Wheel

0

Gwalior: In what could be one of the first public appearances of a Bentley in Gwalior, Maharani Priyadarshini Raje Scindia was seen driving a Bentley Bentayga around the historic Jai Vilas Palace, creating a striking blend of royal heritage and modern luxury motoring.

The luxury SUV, priced between ₹3.83 crore and ₹5.60 crore, drew attention as it moved through the palace surroundings, a setting long associated with India’s regal automotive legacy.

Speaking about her experience behind the wheel, Maharani Priyadarshini Raje Scindia revealed that her passion for driving began at the age of just four. She described the Bentley Bentayga as an ideal companion for long drives, praising its combination of luxury, character, advanced features and refined comfort.

She said that for her, a true luxury car must offer more than just sophistication. According to her, a high-quality music system and strong reliability are also essential parts of the luxury experience.

Reflecting on the growing presence of premium automotive brands in India, Maharani Priyadarshini Raje Scindia said it was heartening to see luxury marques returning to the country, reminding many of the grand motoring era of Indian Maharajas, when royal garages housed some of the finest cars in the world.

Around the iconic Jai Vilas Palace, the Bentley Bentayga looked less like a visitor and more like royalty returning home — a modern luxury SUV finding a natural stage in one of India’s most historic royal settings.

Maharajpura Industrial Area Choked by Illegal Encroachments, Factory Owners Allege; Demand Urgent Action

0

Gwalior: Gwalior’s Maharajpura Industrial Area, considered one of the city’s key MSME and manufacturing hubs, is facing mounting pressure from alleged illegal encroachments, traffic congestion and rising safety concerns, with local industrialists demanding immediate intervention from the administration.

According to industry representatives, nearly 300 roadside vendors and temporary shops have occupied key stretches inside the industrial area, including areas marked as green belt in planning documents. Factory owners allege that vegetable sellers, meat shops and other informal markets have taken over roads meant for industrial movement, making it difficult for trucks, loading vehicles and workers to move freely.

The issue has been highlighted repeatedly by local industries, but factory owners claim that no permanent action has been taken so far. They allege that despite complaints to civic authorities and the administration, the encroachments continue to return, leaving the area vulnerable to traffic jams, pollution and law-and-order problems.

Industrialists say the problem has now gone beyond inconvenience. They claim that illegal structures are being built near factory premises, while commercial activity on roads has created disputes between vendors, transporters and factory workers. There are also concerns over alleged extortion, fights and criminal activities affecting the business environment in the industrial zone.

The Maharajpura Industrial Area is said to have an estimated annual turnover of around ₹500 crore and provides employment to a large number of workers. Industry representatives warn that continued inaction could hurt investment confidence and force some units to reconsider future expansion plans.

Local factory owners are demanding immediate removal of encroachments, relocation of the illegal market to a designated vending zone, strict monitoring of green belt land, widening of internal roads and stronger police patrolling in the area.

They have urged the district administration, municipal corporation and police to treat the matter as an industrial safety and economic concern rather than a routine anti-encroachment issue.

Industrialists say a clean, accessible and secure industrial area is essential for Gwalior’s MSME growth, and that repeated complaints should now be followed by visible, long-term action.

Supreme Court Rejects Bail Plea of Travel Vlogger Jyoti Malhotra in Pakistan Espionage Case

0

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday refused to grant bail to Haryana-based travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra, who is accused of sharing sensitive information with Pakistani intelligence operatives, observing that allegations involving national security could not be treated lightly.

A bench of Justices Dipankar Datta and S.C. Sharma dismissed Malhotra’s plea challenging the March 7 order of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which had earlier denied her bail in the alleged espionage case. The top court termed the accusations against her “very serious” and said there could be “no compromise” when national security was involved.

Malhotra’s counsel argued that she had been in custody for over a year since her arrest in May 2025 and had no previous criminal record. However, the bench said these were matters to be examined during trial and declined to interfere with the High Court’s order.

Malhotra, a resident of Hisar who ran the YouTube channel “Travel with Jo”, is accused of maintaining contact with Pakistani officials and intelligence-linked individuals. Police alleged that she met Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, an official of the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, and remained in regular touch with him. Danish was declared persona non grata by India and expelled from the country in May 2025.

According to investigators, Malhotra allegedly travelled to Pakistan, met officers linked to its security and intelligence establishment, and later communicated with them through social media platforms. The case was registered under the Official Secrets Act and Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with acts endangering the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India.

The prosecution has also claimed that forensic examination of her electronic devices revealed deleted conversations and communication through multiple online platforms. Investigators alleged that video footage and information related to strategic locations, including the Pandoh Dam in Himachal Pradesh and other sensitive establishments, were exchanged.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court had earlier held that there was sufficient prima facie material against Malhotra and refused bail, citing the seriousness of the allegations and the nature of the alleged anti-national activity. The Supreme Court’s refusal means Malhotra will continue to remain in custody while the trial proceeds.

Drug-Free J&K Campaign Becomes People’s Movement as LG Manoj Sinha Says Narco-Terror Networks Face ‘Operation Clean’ Heat

0

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has said the Union Territory’s anti-drug campaign has grown into a strong people’s movement, as authorities intensify action against narcotics trafficking and narco-terrorism networks under the 100-day Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan.

Launched on April 11 from Jammu, the campaign has produced major enforcement results in less than two months. According to official figures cited during the drive, authorities have registered 1,036 FIRs, arrested 1,128 alleged drug smugglers, seized around 344 kg of drugs, attached and sealed more than 100 properties, cancelled nearly 700 driving licences, and recommended cancellation of passports of 130 drug smugglers.

Addressing a padyatra in Kishtwar, Sinha said the 56-day campaign had covered 19 districts and touched countless lives. He asserted that the administration was breaking every link in the drug trade chain and taking stringent action to eliminate the menace.

“Fifty-five days ago, from the soil of Jammu, I declared that enough is enough. What began as a war against drugs and narco-terrorism has now evolved into a true people’s movement—a movement born of courage, sustained by spirit, and driven by the collective will of ordinary citizens. Today, that resolve stands stronger than ever,” the Lieutenant Governor said after leading a padyatra in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

“Having now visited every district in the Kashmir Valley and participated in each march, I can say that a historic movement against narco-terrorism has emerged,” he added.

The campaign combines aggressive enforcement with mass public mobilisation. While police and law enforcement agencies are targeting drug traffickers, illegal supply routes and financial assets linked to narcotics, public marches and awareness campaigns are being used to build community resistance against drug abuse.

The Lieutenant Governor also assured rehabilitation for those trapped in addiction.

“With compassion and dignity, we will help them return to the mainstream of society. Through treatment, counselling and employment opportunities, we are opening new doors. People must remember that this is not merely a government programme; it is a social revolution. Together, we will ensure that no drug smuggler or peddler finds a place in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

“Fifty-five days ago, I stood on the soil of Jammu and declared that we would free our children from the poison of drugs, protect our families from being torn apart by addiction, and refuse to let our people become hostages to narco-terrorists who profit from suffering and fund terrorism with their illicit earnings. We have launched a war against those who seek to destroy the future of our youth,” Sinha said.

Officials say the campaign is aimed not only at reducing drug abuse but also at dismantling narco-terror funding channels. The administration has also directed officials to identify narco-corridors and dismantle hotspots and networks operating in vulnerable areas.

Narco-terrorism has emerged as a major security and social challenge in Jammu and Kashmir, where drug trafficking is viewed not merely as a law-and-order issue but also as a threat to youth, families and internal security. Sinha’s “Operation Clean” approach seeks to confront the menace on multiple fronts — arrests, asset seizure, licence and passport action, public participation, treatment and rehabilitation.

With the campaign still underway, the J&K administration has signalled that the crackdown will continue against traffickers, peddlers and networks accused of using drug money to fuel instability.

Coaching Mafia Under Scanner: From Agnipath to UPPSC, Protest Politics Faces Tough Questions in Uttar Pradesh

0

Lucknow: The role of coaching operators in several student agitations has once again come under sharp public scrutiny, with past incidents now being viewed as part of a larger pattern rather than isolated episodes of student unrest.

From the Agnipath protests to the UPPSC agitation, the Lekhpal movement and the BPSC normalisation dispute, allegations have repeatedly surfaced that some coaching institutions and operators did not merely support students, but actively shaped, amplified or commercially exploited their anger.

In the Agnipath protests, names of coaching operators reportedly appeared in FIRs. During the UPPSC agitation, eight major institutions were issued show cause notices. In the Lekhpal movement, platforms such as Exampur, Super Climax and Target On were accused of running aggressive social media campaigns before their centres faced sealing action. In the BPSC normalisation controversy, allegations went even further, with claims that a coaching institute circulated a fake arrest rumour involving its own founder to trigger student outrage.

At the time, each controversy was treated separately: one protest, one recruitment dispute, one online campaign, one burst of anger from aspirants. But seen together, these incidents have raised a far more serious question — whether sections of the coaching industry have turned student anxiety into a managed commercial operation.

The charge is that these movements are often presented as campaigns for student welfare, while the real beneficiaries are coaching brands seeking visibility, influence and pressure power. Students, meanwhile, face the consequences — lost study time, disrupted preparation, legal trouble, uncertainty and emotional stress.

Critics argue that while coaching operators gain publicity during such agitations, students rarely receive refunds, apologies or accountability when movements collapse, centres are sealed or claims made during campaigns turn out to be misleading.

The Uttar Pradesh government under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken an increasingly tough stance against coaching-linked mobilisation, especially where authorities suspect commercial interests behind student protests. Officials have maintained that genuine grievances of students must be addressed, but organised attempts to mislead aspirants or disrupt public order will face action.

The larger message appears clear: the credibility of the so-called coaching mafia has taken a major hit, and the government is now moving to challenge not just individual operators, but the business model that thrives on unrest, fear and competitive exam uncertainty.

For lakhs of aspirants, the issue is no longer only about exams or recruitment calendars. It is also about trust — and whether those claiming to fight for students are actually using them as a crowd, a campaign tool and a revenue engine.

NEET-UG 2026 Controversy: Paper Leak, Arrests and Re-Exam Put India’s Biggest Medical Entrance Test Under Scrutiny

0

New Delhi: The NEET-UG 2026 controversy has snowballed into one of India’s biggest examination integrity crises, after the National Testing Agency cancelled the medical entrance test held on May 3 over allegations of a large-scale paper leak and irregularities.

The exam, taken by lakhs of medical aspirants across the country, was cancelled on May 12 after allegations emerged that a “guess paper” circulated before the test had striking similarities with the actual NEET-UG question paper. The Centre ordered a CBI probe, while the NTA announced that the exam would be conducted again.

According to reports, the controversy began after claims surfaced that several questions from the actual paper had appeared in pre-circulated material allegedly shared through coaching networks and messaging platforms. India Today reported that at least 140 questions, including the chemistry section, allegedly matched the leaked material.

The NTA later announced that the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination would be held on June 21, 2026. Students will not need to register again, and no fresh fee will be charged for the re-test, according to available official update summaries.

The investigation has widened across multiple states, with the CBI arresting several accused linked to coaching centres and alleged question-paper circulation networks. A Delhi court sent biology lecturer Manisha Mandhare to CBI custody in connection with the case, while reports also named other accused including P.V. Kulkarni and Manisha Waghmare in the widening probe.

The scandal has triggered student protests, political attacks and demands for accountability from the NTA and the Union Education Ministry. Student groups have alleged that repeated exam disruptions have caused severe stress among aspirants, many of whom had spent years preparing for the high-stakes medical entrance test.

The controversy has also revived memories of the 2024 NEET-UG row, when allegations of paper leaks and irregularities had similarly shaken public confidence in the examination system. NEET-UG is the common national entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical education in Indian medical institutions, including MBBS and related courses.

With the re-exam scheduled for June 21, authorities have begun tightening security arrangements. In Bihar, officials have ordered strict measures for the re-test to ensure a fair and secure examination process.

The case has now become more than just an examination dispute. It has raised larger questions over the safety of question papers, the role of coaching networks, internal access within examination systems and the future format of high-stakes national entrance tests in India.

For over two million aspirants, the immediate concern remains simple: they must sit for the exam again. For the government and testing agencies, however, the challenge is far bigger — restoring trust in an examination system that decides the future of India’s next generation of doctors.

Shreyas Iyer Named India T20I Captain as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Earns Maiden Call-Up

0

New Delhi: A new chapter in Indian T20 cricket has begun, with Shreyas Iyer named captain of Team India’s T20I squad for the upcoming tours of Ireland and England. The squad announcement has triggered major discussion across cricket circles, with fresh faces, leadership changes and notable omissions becoming the biggest talking points.

The headline inclusion is 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has earned his maiden senior India call-up after a breakout IPL campaign. His selection marks one of the boldest youth moves in India’s recent T20 planning, as selectors appear to be looking towards the next generation ahead of future global tournaments.

Iyer’s appointment as T20I captain comes after a strong leadership phase in franchise cricket and a renewed push for stability in India’s middle order. His elevation also signals a change in direction, with Suryakumar Yadav no longer leading the side for this assignment. Tilak Varma has reportedly been named vice-captain, giving the squad a younger leadership core.

Along with Sooryavanshi, Ravi Bishnoi and Prince Yadav have also drawn attention after being rewarded for their IPL performances. The squad is being seen as a blend of established T20 names and emerging players who could shape India’s long-term white-ball roadmap.

However, the biggest debate has come around Rajat Patidar’s continued absence. Patidar, who scored 312 runs in IPL 2025 and 501 runs in IPL 2026 while playing a key role in Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s back-to-back IPL title wins, has once again missed out on a T20I opportunity. His omission has sparked strong reactions from fans, many questioning what more he needs to do to enter India’s T20 setup.

The leadership debate has also taken centre stage. Supporters of Iyer have pointed to his role as a reliable middle-order batter and calm tactical presence, while others believe his appointment may only be a short-term move. Some cricket observers have suggested that Shubman Gill remains the long-term captaincy candidate for the 2028 Olympics and future T20 World Cup cycle, making Iyer’s role a possible transitional phase.

Senior journalist Kushan Sarkar’s reported remark that Iyer may not last long in the T20 format has further fuelled discussion, especially at a time when India’s T20 plans appear to be moving towards youth, flexibility and multi-format leadership options.

For now, the message from the selectors appears clear: India are ready to experiment. With Iyer at the helm, Sooryavanshi entering the senior setup, and several IPL performers getting recognition, the Ireland and England tour could become an important testing ground for the next version of India’s T20 team.
