New Delhi, 3 September 2014: Madhya Pradesh Commerce, Industries and Employment minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia met Minister of Civil Aviation Pusapati Ashok Gajapati Raju and requested to expand airlines services in the state. She said in terms of industrialization and tourism, Madhya Pradesh is full of rich possibilities. Investors and tourists from abroad wants to visit the state, therefore expanding airlines services in state has become imperative.
Scindia appealed to connect Bhopal to Delhi-Mumbai airlines services along with Hyderabad-Bangalore-Chennai etc. Giving the information about Global Investor Meet from 8 October to 10 October to Union Minister she said Air Arabia and Emirates Airlines took forward to give airlines services from Sharjah (Dubai) to Indore. In this connection she cited her recent trip to Dubai with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and said that there are many businessmen and entrepreneurs wishing to invest in Madhya Pradesh. Therefore if aerobridge work gets completed at Indore international airport and a special temporary permit to start airlines services from Sharjah (Dubai) to Indore before Investor Meet would be excellent.
Union Minister of Civil Aviation Pusapati Ashok Gajapati Raju instructed the concerned authorities to complete the work of aerobridge at Indore international airport this month. Regarding Sharjah (Dubai) to Indore airlines services he denoted inevitability of Ministry of External Affairs and other rules for further proceedings.
Union Minister of Civil Aviation also assured to visit Madhya Pradesh in near future with diverse nominees of airlines for expanding airlines services after Chief Minister’s invitation to visit Madhya Pradesh. Principal Secretary of Industry Department Mohammad Suleman, Managing Director of Air India including senior officials of aviation Ministry were also present in the meeting.
