Mumbai, 14 August 2014: During her Mumbai visit, minister for Commerce, Industries and Employment in Madhya Pradesh, Yashodhara Raje Scindia, encouraged top barons of India’s industrial capital, Mumbai, to attend the Global Investor Summit to be held in indore in October. She further enlightened them on the immense investment possibilities that Madhya Pradesh holds for them with strong support from the state government and a rich industrial culture.
Scindia also called on A.M. Naik, Executive Chairman, Larsen & Toubro, a major player in defence and nuclear power sector. L&T is keen in setting up its defence ventures in Madhya Pradesh for which the minister promised to provide the required 104 acre land in Gwalior.
Some other major industrialists Scindia met included Anoop Agarwal, Managing Director, BLA Industries, Mahesh Kodumuri, executive director, Volkswagen and Pankaj Gupta, head, external affairs, Volkswagen and Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra & Mahindra, who expressed his desire to invest in the production of electric-run ‘Reva’ car and to help the government in development of smart city.
She also had discussions with the Chairman of Cadbury Manu Anand, Managing Director of Axis Bank Shikha Sharma, Vice Chairman of Kotak Mahindra Uday Kotak, Vice President of Piramal Group Dr. Swati Piramal and many other corporate leaders. The minister further called on Richard Bell, the Canadian Consul in Mumbai, who showed fervour for his country’s investment in India and invited Scindia to visit Canada to motivate the investors.
