The most amazing Jain Temple in the world, stopped due to money shortage (15)

While going to Agra, at Morena highway I saw a half constructed building which is being left. The design looked so different which made me stop and I decided to take its picture.

This is when a man came running towards me from the other side of the road and yelled, do you want to visit inside. I said of course, after all I wanted to know more about this creative building.

This man was the security guard of this building and he said, “Welcome my name is Vijay Singh.” I enquired about the building and he told me that this is not a regular building, it’s a Jain Temple which after construction will be one of most unique designed temple (mandir) in the world.

Commissioned by Gyan Sagar Maharaj of Morena, this Jain Temple started its construction from four years from now and it’s stopped today due to money shortage. Right now more than Rs. 4 crores has been spent on its construction.

The whole land belongs to Gyan Sagar Maharaj and he also plans to open a college or hospital near this temple. Vijay says that this temple is built very strongly and more than 9 steel bars are installed under one pillar. He further says that Maharaj has spent a lot of money in the quality of construction.

The design of this temple looks amazingly different and it reminds me of Jantar Mantar in New Delhi very slightly. I am sure after completion it will be one of the most amazing place of worship for Jains in the world. Inside halls have lots of pillars between which Gyan Sagar Maharaj will often give his pravachan and meet his devotees. There are lots of stairs around the temple which leads to the terrace where god idol will be kept.

One more amazing fact about this wonderful temple is that on the top of its terrace will sit a massive 19 ton (19,000 kg or 6,08,000 ounce) murti of god. This murti is being ordered from a foreign country.

Bhargav Builder from Gwalior is the contractor of this construction and it is said that he has also spend over Rs. 30 lakhs in the construction of this temple.

Situated near Morena in Madhya Pradesh, I hope Jains around the world contributes to the construction of this amazing temple and make it another wonder of India. After all money should be the last problem in a religious task.
