Gwalior, 13 December 2014: Drizzling from the sky outside and spirited music performances by the artists became a kind of bonfire for the music buffs. Despite the rain, a large number of visitors arrived at the first musical gathering of Tansen Samaroh.
Rich mellow voice of Sanhita Nandi from New Delhi sang “Bairaagi” and “Kaahe neend lagai balma”. Emotional sweetness of hearts hooked up with violin recital by Anupriya Deotale. She played the raga “Basant bukhari”.
Vocalist Pandit Uday Bhawalkar was the thirt artist who learned ABC from noted classical singer Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar. He performed “Tum rab tum sahib tum hi kartaar” under raga “Vrandavani Sarang” enthralled the dhrupad fans.
Arriving from Patiala was Sardar Alankar Singh started his singing with raga “Shudh saarang”. He also presented a Punjabi composition “Jhanjhariya Jhanke”.
Tansen Music Festival’s first morning began traditionally with the dhrupad performance by Maharudra Mandal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya.
