Trees planted under “Greenery and faith campaign” at Race Course Road, Gwalior
Nature has given us various gifts and one of them is tree. To balance the environment trees play a vital role, even in our religion trees are symbol of faith, that is why today along with being trees friendly and plantation we take resolution of conserving trees. These were the words said by Minister of Women and Child Development Maya Singh during the launch of “Greenery and Faith” campaign by Gwalior Municipal Corporation. Mayor Sameeksha Gupta presided over the program.
Program’s special guest were Moderator Brijendra Singh Jadon, Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya Chancellor Prof. A.K. Singh, Collector P. Narahari, Municipal Commissioner Vinod Sharma, GDA Former Vice President Rakesh Jadon, Krishi Vishwavidyalaya Dean Dr. Suresh Singh Tomar, MIC Member Dinesh Sikarwar and others.
More then 100 trees were planted at Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya near Race Course Road, Gwalior under the plantation campaign by Municipal Corporation.
During the program, Mayor Sameeksha Gupta said the plants planted lasted year have 90% still alive among them. It should be our motive that whatever seed we plant should take form of tree. She further said that Chancellor of Krishi Vishwavidyalaya has taken the responsibility of plants planted at Race Course Road which is a proud fact.
Giving the outline of program Municipal Commissioner Vinod Sharma said under the guidance of Collector P. Narahari Gwalior Municipal Corporation and District Administration are running a broad tree plantation campaign. Last year Municipal Corporation planted 1.27 lakh plants in district from which 90% are still alive. He also said that last year Municipal Corporation started Home to Home tree plantation scheme under which 87,000 plants were planted, this scheme will be started this year also.
