New Delhi 25 February, 2015: Polaris India Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Polaris Industries Inc. the world leader in Off-Road and All-Terrain Vehicles, partnered with the recently concluded 8th edition of SAE BAJA India 2015 event at the NATRIP facility in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The three-days event was held from 20th February till 23rd February, 2015 and won by College of Engineering, Pune.
The SAE BAJA India series sees engineering students from across the country design and build Off-Road Vehicles (ORVs) from ground up. The participants are graded on the basis of engineering practice while designing the ATV, the agility of the vehicle in terms of gradability, speed, acceleration and manoeuvrability and finally its ability to endure the durability test.
Speaking on Polaris India’s participation in the event, Pankaj Dubey, Managing Director, Polaris India Pvt. The SAE Baja platform is extremely encouraging for budding automobile engineers to showcase their engineering talent and creativity. The company provided ORV parts like tyres, hub, knuckle, kill switch, suspension, steering wheel, callipers, break disc etc., and assisted students in designing their vehicles. Polaris parts have been immensely popular amongst the budding engineers to build their ATV machines in this competition.
About 323 teams had registered for the event this year out of which 118 teams competed for the title in the endurance round. Polaris India partnered and participated in the event by providing key technical support to the participants in designing their vehicles. Polaris models like the Sportsman 850, MV 700, Sportsman Tractor, RZR XP 900, RZR S 800 and Ranger 500 made their mark at the event by showcasing their extreme traction, acceleration, manoeuvrability and performance.
