PepsiCo will be the title sponsor for Indian Premier League (IPL). With decrease in interest of advertisers and the public somewhat, PepsiCo is believing that IPL will is still a happening event in India.
PepsiCo pushed Airtel, which had offered Rs 316 crore, and won the title sponsorship for Twenty20 tournament for Rs 396.8 crore. Twice the amount DLF paid for previous title sponsor, which ended its association with the event in August this year.
“We definitely expect PepsiCo to increase ILP’s brand value,”IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla said.
