Gwalior, 25 March 2015: An earthquake measuring 6 to 7.5 magnitude on the Richter scale shook Gwalior and Delhi NCR for nearly two minutes. The epicentre of the quake is 83 km east of Pokhara in Nepal. As quoted from the PTI, the tremor was also felt in some parts of Chennai.
There were no significant announcements made by the officials in the city. In Gwalior, people ran out of their home and office into a open area. According to witness, the tremor was felt for around 2 minutes at 11:50 am.
“First I felt my chair moving, then my desk, I ran out with my mother outside and saw my car shaking mildly.” said Kaushal Dwivedi, a student in Gwalior. “Even my neighbours started coming out”
“Epicenter was 83 kilometres North West of Kathmandu, Nepal, measured 7.4 on Richter scale,” said European Mediterranean Seismological Center. According to reports some buildings has collapsed in Kathmandu and even Kathmandu airport is closed.
