Gwalior, 3 July 2014: A day to be marked as the history in Gwalior two-wheeler business with the opening to city’s first premium motorcycle dealership. Gwalior has a new KTM (Kraftfahrzeuge Trunkenpolz Mattighofen) and Kawasaki joint dealership located at Athena, Behind SP Office, City Center, Gwalior, aimed at serving the local community with everything, from motorcycles to parts, accessories and even apparel. It’s the fourth KTM dealership in Madhya Pradesh and 131st dealership in India.
The new City Center KTM and Kawasaki is the culmination of the Sunil Gupta’s investment and dedication to serving the motorcycling community in Gwalior, along with Gupta Bajaj, a Bajaj dealership located at Laxmibai Colony. This world-class showroom was inaugurated by Sunil Gupta, Dealer Principal, City Centre KTM, Sameer Mamtani, Bajaj Assistant Manager (Probiking) and Arvind Agarwal, Managing Director, Athena. Bajaj is associated with KTM as Bajaj Auto Limited acquires a shareholding of 47% in KTM Power Sports AG.
“After many years in the two-wheeler business, we are delighted to have the opportunity to represent KTM and Kawasaki. KTM’s expanded line-up and attractive financing programs will allow us to expose more riders to the KTM brand, and put customers on a range of bikes that are not only outstanding in safety and performance, but also a great value,” said owner Sunil Gupta.
The entire range of the KTM and Kawasaki: KTM 200 Duke, KTM 390 Duke, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Kawasaki Ninja 390 models will be available at the City Centre dealership. The team at the dealership will comprise of trained professionals offering global standards of after-sales and service support to add to the overall experience of owning an KTM or Kawasaki. The 1600 sqft. dealership is equipped with 3S facility i.e. Sales, Service and Spares with a target of selling 10 to 15 units per month, therefore, service department consists of only one bay for servicing one motorcycle at a time. Ninjas which are above 600 cc will be sold only from Kawasaki flagship stores not from KTM stores.

“The start of the KTM Kawasaki’s dealer network in Gwalior reinforces the company’s serious commitment towards growing its footprint in the country and reaching out to KTM Kawasaki fans. For the records KTM-Sportmotorcycle AG is an Austrian motorcycle manufacturer, which was formed in 1992 but traces its foundation as early as in 1934. KTM is known for its off road motorcycles. Whereas, Kawasaki motorcycles are manufactured by the Motorcycle & Engine division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries at plants in Japan.
