Situated at Phoolbagh, Gwalior, Gopal temple Shri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated in which Shri Radha-Krishna was adorned in ultra expensive ornaments by Gwalior Mayor Sameeksha Gupta. On the occassion chairman Brijendra Singh jaodn, Leader of opposition Shammi Sharma, Puroshottam Bhargav, Pushpa Sharma, Devendra Pathak, Municipal Commissioner Ajay Gupta, Additional Commissioner M.L. Daultani including police officers were present.
In the afternoon of Gopal temple ornaments of Shri Radha Krishna were taken out from Central Bank locker with high police security. With lots of care ornaments are adorned on the god. After prayers it was opened for the general public.
On the occasion Mayor Sameeksha Gupta said that after the merger of princely states Gwalior state was dissolved in Central India, God Radha Krishna’s ultra expensive ornaments were submitted to Municipal Corporation after that from 1983 ornaments were kept in Municipal treasury later the then council sought the evaluation of ornaments and kept it into the safe lockers of Central Bank. Thereafter in 2007 the then Mayor Vivek Narayan Shejwalkar among the security ornaments were taken out from the bank locker and it was cleaned & polished.
