GWALIOR: The city’s wooden floor indoor badminton court was inaugurated on the evening of 2 April 2014. With a view to promote indoor games, particularly badminton, Jiwaji Club built the badminton court with a time span of .
It was inaugurated by Gwalior Mayor Sameeksha Gupta, Jiwaji Club Chairman N.K. Tripathi, President Rajkumar Kukreja and Secretary Rajendra Seth along with other club members.
Three matches can be played simultaneously at this badminton court of size 66×44. It consists of three courts of size 22×44 according to international standards. Apart from that the height of indoor court is above 35 feet.
For the build off, the indoor court has to cost of Rs. 1.25 crore. Jiwaji club took 18 months to construct this court.
This is the first wooden floor indoor court in Gwalior. It consists of three floors below the wooden surface which comes as a ease to players.
It has been named as Vishnu Mangal Memorial Indoor Badminton Court.
