To educate young generation about Indian culture and values Hariyali (Greenery)Festival a souvenir of Hariyali Teej which falls in month of sawan was organized at personal residence of Gwalior Mayor Sameeksha Gupta. During the festival music, games, amusement and delicious food were enjoyed by the women.
In festival Mayor Sameeksha Gupta, Raja Man Singh Music and Arts University Vice Chancellor Dr. Swatantra Sharma, Jiwaji University Vice Chancellor Dr. Sangeeta Shukla including JCI, Lions Club, Jiwaji Club, Mahila Parishad and members of various women’s organizations were present.
During Hariyali festival first ladies initiated the festival after swinging hammock of God Krishna Kanhaiya. In the program swinging festival was celebrated in which all the women did the swinging and indicated their participation. During the program women were wearing green outfits as green is the symbol of Hariyali (Greenery). Women were also seen wearing colourful bangles. At the same dance contest, singing contest, Hariyali Queen were also organized. In which all women sang the song.
The dance competition was organized on the occasion in which women participated enthusiastically. Delicious recipes were arranged like, savory Chaat, Panipuri, Corn, Tamarind, Karonde, Guava and other foot stuff. In addition, the women also put mehndi. There well talented women to showcase art were awarded on the spot.
