100 ft gigantic flagpole installation, bhumi pujan concluded
Gwalior, 14 September 2014: With a joint interest of Gwalior Municipal Corporation and Lions Club Gwalior City, a 100 feet high national flag will be set-up. The flag will be installed at MLA College, Theme road. Its bhumi pujan was done today by Mayor Sameeksha Gupta.
The hoisting of gigantic sized flag at MLB College is part of Municipal Corporation’s initiative to inspire Gwaliorites to take pride in displaying the National Flag and instil sense of nationalism and patriotism among the citizens of the city.
During the program organised at Theme road, club officials said that 100 feet high flag is at 38 places around the country and Gwalior will be the 39th city. The management responsibility of the flag will be of Lions Club Gwalior City and power system will be taken care by Municipal Corporation. About the flag Mayor Sameeksha Gupta said that it will be a privilege for our city and with everyone’s support and motivation the task will be completed.
She said that for flag she will give our one year of honorarium which will be around Rs. 1.51 lakh. On the auspicious program of bhumi pujan program, Nitin Manglik, Dr. Rakesh Raizada, Sudhir Bajpai, Pradeep Sharma and other members & office bearers were present.
Normally, flags are hoisted on small poles of 20 ft. which go unnoticed. However, in the case of monumental flagpoles, they are on a pole of more than 100 ft.in height and hence they cannot be overlooked or go unnoticed. It is the sheer size and giant dimension that make them monumental, invoking a sense of nationalism and patriotism.
