It’s a good monsoon season so far, as per average rainfall is concerned Gwalior has received a good amount of rainfall
To some this news can hit like ton of bricks, the amount of rainfall Gwalior have obtained till date shows healthy figure. A low pressure area has formed over North West Bay of Bengal off Odisha Coast which can give some more rain in future. Under this system, rain would occur in the Gwalior district. From first July to 17 July 284.2mm rainfall has been recorded and in June it was recorded as 196mm. As compared to last year the rainfall up to 17 July was just 133.7mm. Around ten to twelve systems have been formed in Bay of Bengal which may pour rain in Gwalior, but due to their westerly directions sometimes Gwalior doesn’t receive rainfall. July and August are months which depict to be healthy in terms of rainfall in Gwalior and as compared to last year figure of 173.7mm in July this year Gwalior had 284.2mm of rainfall which are the figures to celebrate. According to U.S. Chouksey, Assistant Meteorologist of Meteorological Department, Gwalior, “Low-pressure area has some western disturbances but as per average rainfall is concerned Gwalior has a good rainfall and in coming weeks heavy rainfall is expected”.
