The growth in production of passenger vehicles in the last two years has been erratic due to economic slowdown in the global and domestic market. In FY14, the production of passenger vehicles witnessed 4% de-growth, while in FY15 the production grew by 4%.
The details of passenger vehicles produced in the past three financial years is provided below:

There is no such proposal to ban sale of cars in the metro cities.
