Gwalior, 10 April 2014: Keeping no stones unturned to gather votes Vice President of Indian National Congress Rahul Gandhi did a road show of 2 hours with Gwalior Lok Sabha candidate Ashok Singh. He landed at 4.45 pm at Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia Airport. While crossing Gole ka Mandir, he reached 7 No. Crossing, Morar at 5.15 pm. He came out of the car after seeing the crowd of party workers. After completing the road show he departed for New Delhi.
Even after the Z-plus security Congress Vice President shook with hands with public, took yarn wreath and after Thatipur crossing he sat on the roof of Tata Safari with party candidate Ashok Singh. General Secretary in-charge Mohan Prakash, Leader of opposition Satyadev Katare were inside the car.
Along with the enthusiasm of Congress party workers, citizens of Gwalior were also in fervour to meet Rahul Gandhi and welcome him. But due to high security placement, many were left disappointed. After seeing garland of flowers at Dussehra Field of Thatipur, Rahul Gandhi said to stop the car, but Special Protection Group (SPG) made the car slower and then arrived further. Due to which party workers who were standing from past one and a quarter hour to welcome Rahul threw the garlands towards the car and Rahul smiled and waved his hand with greetings.
At 7 no. crossing, two women came in front of the caravan and shook hands with Rahul Gandhi. Caravan of Rahul arrived at Dussehra Field of Thatipur at 5.17 pm where young politicians welcomed him. The caravan arrived at Inderganj crossing at 6.01 pm where on the both sides of road Congress party workers and traders showered flowers.
No Service Revolvers: Some of the men of Police officers came up with service revolvers. These men were standing near the barricading. When Special Protection Group (SPG) got their eyes over them, they instructed these men to be away atleast 500 metres from the Dussehra field, Thatipur.
Binoculars for better view: Various men of Police were found standing over the buildings with binoculars which came in the route of road show to keep a better view of the public.
Rahul and the kids: Jawaharlal Nehru use to love kids. Brought up from that family, even Rahul have those traits. These were the words of student of 9th class Avi Jain from Gwalior Glory School. To get a glimpse of Rahul Gandhi at the evening, Avi came outside of her house at MLB colony with her younger sister Krati who is a class 4 student. Krati waved her hand after seeing Rahul when his caravan arrived. After seeing two kids in his support, Rahul stopped his car, brought both kids over the car and make them sit on his lap and asked them about their studies. In the meantime, security officers arrived, Rahul stopped them, dropped with kids while giving them roses and moved ahead with waving his hand.
Forgot then came back: Situated at Nadigate statue of Madhavrao Scindia, first caravan passed in front of the statue in hurry, then after coming back from Shinde ki Chawani the car arrived towards the statue. Stopping the car at the bridge, Rahul Gandhi and Ashok Singh stepped down and walked towards the statue. After laying pushpanjali at the statue, caravan arrived further.
Visited R.D. Jain: At Gasht ka Tazia, caravan of Rahul Gandhi suddenly stopped. Rahul Gandhi and Ashok Singh stepped down from car and walked towards the residence of Advocate General R.D. Jain. Seeing them coming grandson of R.D. Jain, Divyansh said him – Baba run quickly, Rahul Gandhi is coming. Jain was coming down the stairs with his grandson before that Rahul Gandhi climbed some stairs. He shook hands with Jain, and enquired about the demise of his wife Asha Devi and expressed condolences. Jain never expected Rahul Gandhi will ever visit his residence. While passing, Ashok Singh reminded Rahul that here is a residence of Advocate General R.D. Jain and his wife passed away recently. After that Rahul Gandhi said to stop the car.
