Gwalior, 1 July 2014: On the occassion of National Doctor’s Day, Gwalior obstetric and gynaecological society (GOGS) organized a free health check up camp from 8 am to 10 am and tree plantation programme at Government Secondary School of tribal village Khadi Kheda located at Shivpuri Link Road. Collector P. Narahari was the chief guest, as distinguished guest Commissioner Vinod Sharma, moderator Brijendra Singh Jadon, Councillor Puroshottam Bhargav, senior councillor Raj Chaddha were present.
On the occassion Collector P. Narahari said, “Today senior doctors are doing a charitable work by giving free services at necessary tribal areas. It will be a inspiration to other doctors by the work done by GOGS team.” He also announced to donate four fans in every tribal school. Plantation was also done in the memory of Dr. Leela Fatak, Dr. P. Olyai, Dr. K.V. Bagh, Dr. Sushil Patil.
At the programme, GOGS President Dr. Meena Mundra, Dr. Shaila Sapre, Dr. Ratna Kaul, Dr. Veena Agarwal, Dr. Kusum Singhal, Dr. Kla Jajoo, Dr. Kirti Donde, Dr. Pradeep Saxena, Dr. Nirmala Kachan, Dr. Jyoti Upadhyay along with the team tested 226 patients and distributed medicines.
National Doctor’s Day is celebrated on July 1 all across India to honour the legendary physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy. He was born on July 1, 1882 and died on the same date in 1962, aged 80 years.
