How they have changed the times! Delivery of a computer in 1957.
This was the first computer delivered to the Department of Treasury of Norwich (England) in February 1957. It took them two months to assemble and it just went into operation in April of that same year.
This computer model was Elliott 405 which was designed to carry out calculations of payroll rates. There were many companies to wished to take contract for the service of that department but the price were excessively high.
For the inauguration a major event was organized which saw the attendance of cream and cream during that time, alongside the various notable scientists of the time those who could not believe such a technology that they had witnessed in their eyes.
