Bhopal, 29 October 2014: For helping women in distress to join mainstream of society, they will be imparted training in fashion designing, garment-making and other self-employment activities. Women and Child Development Minister Maya Singh distributed sanction letters to such women under Mukhyamantri Mahila Sashaktikaran Yojana.
Singh said that Mukhyamantri Mahila Sashaktikaran Yojana has been chalked out for permanent rehabilitation of women in distress. She informed that 17 women of Bhopal district have been selected for training in fashion designing and garment making. The training will be imparted at Government Women’s Polytechnic College. Of the selected beneficiaries, 5 reside in institutions run under Juvenile Justice Act and 12 reside at various places after becoming victims of domestic violence.
Singh said that such employment-oriented courses should be introduced in other districts also. She said that apart from training these women in preparing school dresses, readymade clothes etc, arrangements should also be made for marketing of their products.
Commissioner Women’s Empowerment Kalpana Shrivastava informed about Mukhyamantri Mahila Sashaktikaran Yojana.
The beneficiaries include those released from jail, survivors of rape and acid attack, those rescued from misbehaviour and the girls and women residing in shelter homes.
