The close relationship between Boeing and India goes back some 70 years, when Tata Airlines first flew DC-3 aircraft. India then entered the jet age on the wings of Boeing commercial jetliners, and Boeing jets continue to be the mainstay of the country’s domestic and intercontinental commercial fleets.
Today, Boeing also partners with India to meet the country’s aerospace and defense requirements.
Boeing established a wholly owned Indian subsidiary, Boeing International Corporation India Private Limited (BICIPL), in 2003 to support the growing needs of India’s aerospace industry. Headquartered in Delhi, Boeing’s India operation also has an office in Bangalore, with Field Service offices in Mumbai and New Delhi. In 2008, Boeing subsidiary Aviall opened India’s first aircraft parts distribution center in Noida near New Delhi. Another Boeing subsidiary, Jeppesen, a provider of flight navigation solutions, is established in Hyderabad. Two other Boeing subsidiaries, Narus and Continental Data Graphics (CDG), are expanding in the country.
