Alpine was a brand developed by Renault dealer Jean Redele, who made lightweight, mid-engined sportscar using common Renault car parts. This formula worked well with the World Rally Championship, in which the Alpine A 110 took three victories in the early 1970s.
The Renault Alpine A 110-50 Concept pays homage to the original car. The concept is painted the same Alpine Blue like the original rally car. Though the design is modern, there are also retro touches like the half-dome daytime running lights on the front grille. Being faithful to the original engine layout, the 400bhp, 3.5-litre V6 sits right behind the driver in the mid-engined format.
