Auto Expo 2014 New Ford Fiesta debuts in India (9)

Making its official debut in India today at the 12th New Delhi Auto Expo 2014, the new Ford Fiesta is a bold update to a popular and well-loved global automotive icon, featuring striking looks and new technology to keep drivers safely connected while on the road.

Already warmly welcomed in markets around the world, the 2014 Ford Fiesta signals Ford’s vision to solidify its B-car segment position, with technology and performance appealing to enthusiasts. A new, bold design, class-leading safety features and all-new smart technologies like Ford SYNC with AppLink make the new Ford Fiesta an intelligent choice for drivers looking for more in a premium compact car.

“The Ford Fiesta has been lauded by enthusiasts in India for its superior driving dynamics, smart features and democratising technology in the B segment,” said Vinay Piparsania, executive director of Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India. “With a new, bolder look and more refinement, the Ford Fiesta truly stands out as a premium mid-sized sedan. We are proud to offer a product that will make an even more compelling choice for discerning drivers when it launches later in the year.”

To update the Fiesta, designers worked on refining the exterior while retaining its overall character. The new Fiesta’s face is dominated by a trapezoidal front grille – a signature of Ford’s global family – bracketed by laser-cut headlamps. The power-dome hood design adds to the changes, giving the car a more assertive and confident appearance. The designers paid special attention to the Ford badge, which is inlaid into the surface, showing pride and craftsmanship.

At the back, the tail lamps have been given more detail to be in harmony with the expressive head lamps. The new Ford Fiesta also features a new deck lid and bumper fascia, with a chrome accent to further convey visual width and a premium look.

Inside, things are just as expressive. The mobile phone-inspired dashboard and leather steering wheel with audio controls amplify the modern interior and entice drivers to get in the car and on the move.

The new Ford Fiesta features a high-gloss finish for the upper instrument panel that flows to the lower centre console and is replicated in door panels. For those who prefer a light interior, the designers put in a two-tone instrument panel which creates visual space and roominess.

A satin-chrome detailing finish is offered along with Ford’s signature Ice Blue lighting to illuminate dials, switches and displays. They also ensured that surfaces and knobs convey quality at every touch.

New seat fabrics and designs are offered with comfort fabric trims. Eye-catching patterns and textures, including contrast stitching, also add to the vibrant new interior ambience, while additional supporting bolsters improve comfort.
The new Ford Fiesta gives drivers the perfect blend of a connected world and an enjoyable driving experience with Ford SYNC with AppLink. The award-winning hands-free in-car connectivity system enables drivers to keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road while choosing music, making phone calls and controlling their favourite smartphone applications using voice commands.

Helping to ensure the driver’s peace of mind, the new Ford Fiesta has been designed to provide high levels of protection and driver support with high-strength, lightweight steel and a comprehensive safety package.
“The 2014 Ford Fiesta takes our strongest global nameplate to the next level,” said Piparsania. “With its unmatched combination of quality, performance, safety, smart technologies and stunning looks, we’re confident that it will help us to attract and serve even more new customers-to-Ford in India.”
