Jaguar Land Rover on 5th February 2014 announced a third product at its plant in Pune, India. In addition to the Land Rover Freelander 2 and Jaguar XF vehicles, the plant will manufacture the Jaguar XJ with two powertrains – the 2.0 litre petrol and 3.0 litre diesel derivatives.
Mr. Rohit Suri, Vice President, Jaguar Land Rover, India said:
“We are pleased to announce that we will start local manufacturing of the Jaguar XJ in India and sales are expected to begin in the middle of this calendar year. The Jaguar XJ has been a leading premium luxury saloon in many markets, including India, and we look forward to building further momentum with the launch of our locally manufactured flagship model.”
The 2014 model year Jaguar XJ is the latest in a long line of luxurious Jaguar sports saloons, incorporating enhanced rear cabin luxury features, comfort and in-car technology to create a truly elegant and contemporary luxury Jaguar. With a strong lightweight aluminium body, the Jaguar XJ provides focused, agile and responsive handling that allows it to react to road conditions and keep the customer in complete control and comfort.
