Mumbai, 8 April 2015: Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) has taken serious note of unauthorized manufacture, supply, usage of medical diagnostic X-ray equipment by agencies without possessing statutory License issued by AERB under the Atomic Energy (Radiation Protection) Rules, 2004 promulgated under Atomic Energy Act, 1962.
Thus,
- Manufacturer of medical diagnostic X-ray equipment
- Suppliers of medical diagnostic X-ray equipment to hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, stand-alone centers, etc.
- Owners of medical diagnostic X-ray equipment, being operated in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, stand-alone centers, etc.
shall not that not obtaining statutory AERB License renders the violators liable for prosecution under the provision of Atomic Energy Act, 1962. Facilities of the said stakeholders found operating in such contravention hereafter shall be sealed by AERB without further notice.
