A good buy, interview with Crossartz owner Parul Kukreja (1)

A thriving newcomer to the online clothing store industry, ‘Crossartz’ owner Parul Kukreja is a glistening example of what happens when a creative mind takes advantage of change.

“Crossartz means across all the arts”, tells Parul Kukreja who started an online store with the domain name Crossartz.com along with her cousin Hitesh Haswani. “For six months we planned for Crossartz. First we were thinking about an outlet in Gwalior, but I thought why not an online store”, adds Parul. After doing exhibition for around four years, Parul launched an online clothing store along with an outlet that reflected her lifelong love of fashion.

When it comes to making real women look like the real thing, Crossartz is the gold standard. It’s stocked with Parul’s exclusionary fashion taste call it women wear, bags or accessories. Adding up more, this online store is stuffed with iPad sleeves, kitchen & dining products, home furnishings products and also blankets and towels to make your kid happy. “I like the mix & match theory, which I have applied on the suits, like, dupattas are from Kolkata and suits are from Surat which combine it for an exclusive piece”, she says.

Working for quality rather than quantity has been the motto for Parul. “It’s all about subtle design, decency and classy pieces”, says the woman who’s always been her own best experiment. Satya Paul and Sabyasachi top her favourite designers list. She likes to merge beige and hot pink to make a fascinating style. Though exhilarating, she admits that it was her husband, Dheeraj Kukreja who gave her crucial motivation, “When I thought about an online store, it was him who was after me to make this happen”, recalls Parul. Exercising her judgement between the fabrics, tussar silk cotton and maheshwari is her favoured choice. “Along with shopping I am also a little bit foodie,” she says, unleashing that laugh. Parul’s vision of online shopping revolved around ease – she choose odd, “We have more than 200 products on our online store including some exclusive products like platters, tandoor and trendy collection of hairpins and rubber bands”, well, she does know what an online shopper want.
