Jump start, destroyed wings, electronic issues and overheating brakes: A disappointing Sunday for Sauber F1 Team. Felipe Nasr stood 11th after 70 laps and Marcus Ericsson stood 13th doing 69 laps.
It began at the start with Marcus jumping the start. On lap one he went over debris which destroyed both his front and rear wing. He had an early first pit stop to get a new front wing, but his pace was compromised. Furthermore, he had an electronic issue, so the car switched off twice, which forced him to restart it again.
Felipe had issues with overheating brakes that became severe during the second half of the race. Therefore he could not keep up with the pace and wasn’t able to finish the race in the points.
