In the context of the “Ayrton Senna Tribute 1994/2014”, the event scheduled at the Autodromo di Imola May 1 to 4, where there are events and commemorations held to remember the twenty years after the death of the Brazilian F1, Ducati has accepted the invitation of the organizers and will be present in the circuit to remember one of his most famous and unforgettable “Ducati”.
Ayrton Senna, a great lover of motorcycles, Ducati had also dedicated a special version, which was presented a few weeks before the last race at Imola, on the occasion of the visit of the Brazilian champion at the factory in Borgo Panigale. 300 units made on the basis of a 916SP gray with red circles: the “916 Senna.” Two other versions that followed were the “916 Senna II” and “III 916 Seine”, produced and sold in 1997 and 1998. Seine All three versions were produced in a limited edition and they are still very rare and sought after by collectors around the world.
Ducati, in agreement with the Senna Foundation, contributing to educational and charitable purposes for which the Foundation operates since its creation, in 2014 decided to renew the tribute of gratitude and esteem in this unforgettable champion, dedicating a special livery on his bike most prestigious and reference, such as the 1199 Panigale S, creating a new version of “Senna”, designed exclusively for the Brazilian market, produced in a limited edition of only 161 copies (the number of GP starts in F1 Senna).
